An empty house and a cat
An empty house and a cat
Saturday, and the whole family went down to Spain for a funeral.
I stayed home with the cat.
There are colds going around right now, everywhere.
And since I am extra susceptible to catching things, the chances are pretty good that I would come down with something.
So I stayed.
Sometimes that is the only decision you need to make.

Visit to Slakteriet
An ordinary Saturday, and yet not
For me it turned into an ordinary Saturday, with coffee down at Global Living.
But I sat there absent-minded.
I had lost my house keys, and my thoughts went round and round about how I would solve it.
Either break a window or call a locksmith.
The price would probably have been the same — calling a locksmith on a weekend costs.
In the end I messaged a neighbour and asked them to have a look.
And the answer came: they had found the keys.
It was a stone falling from my heart.
As a thank you, the lad got a bag of Polly.
Visit to Slakteriet
Down to Slakteriet
Then I went to the old Slakteriet, where there were some festivities going on.
I heard it before I even got there.
A DJ stood on the balcony above Happy Noodle and sent records out across the courtyard.
Under the tents people sat close together at the long tables and ate, with strings of lights above them.
A bit further away, out on the grass, a drum kit stood set up on a rug, as if someone had just walked away from it in the middle of a song.
And over by the plank wall, children and adults were spraying side by side.
The smell of the paint spread across the whole yard.
Everyone got to try.
That is also where I ran into Anne and Daniel.
Those are the meetings you do not plan and still carry home with you.

Slakterigatan Block Party
Slakterigatan Block Party is not an ordinary festival.
It is a place where music, people and ideas meet in a raw industrial setting.
Between 12.00 and 15.00 the courtyard turns into a bubble filled with activities, open studios, art, DJs and really good food from hand-picked restaurants and cafés.
After 17.00 the courtyard was changed over for a proper late-summer blowout of an evening.

Two days of photographing
Back home again
Now I am sitting at home anyway.
And it will be interesting to see how long I manage to stay awake tonight.
