Music Photography Blues
Music photography blues is the field where I have shot the most, and for the longest time. From intimate club gigs to large concert stages, I have documented some of the most respected artists in blues and rock. The cameras have been a Canon 5D and a Canon R6, most often with a 70-200mm f/2.8 or an RF 24-70mm f/2.8.
Among the artists are Joe Bonamassa, Jonny Lang, Johnny Winter, Stan Webb, Joe Louis Walker, Eric Gales, Bernard Allison, Pat Travers, The Temperance Movement, Jimmy Zavala and NRBQ. A special experience was photographing Michael Powers at the legendary Terra Blues in New York. I have also shot artists at Paris Blues and Shrine, both also in NYC.
Swedish venues have included Nalen and Fasching in Stockholm. For several years I also followed Hedemora Blues Jam closely. Shooting live is all about timing, light and presence — being ready when the artist gives everything. Feel free to visit my retirement adventures or my street photography.
