New parking spot, new views
It turned into a walk down towards the centre this day again, but this time I’ve changed my parking spot.
From now on it’s Blåsbo that’ll do for a while.
Last time I parked in the old spot there was a sign saying the parking was for residents at Biskopsängen — and staying there feels silly now that it’s time for the allotment owners to move into their little cottages.
Admittedly the route down from Blåsbo isn’t quite as adventurous as the old one, but it works out.
I simply take a detour towards the bridge and on over Djäkneberget before I finally end up down at the café.
All to rack up a few extra steps.

Looking for the moment Speaking of catching the right moment in town — Leica sent an email about the Australian street photographer Jesse Marlow, who tested the M EV1 in Tokyo.
He moves away from the main streets to the quieter alleys, where geometry, colour and people come together at just the right moment.

On top of that, German photographer Serghei Duve won the 2025 Newcomer Award with the photo series “Bright Memory”.
In the project he explores his family’s connection to Transnistria.

Trouble with the Leica
Meanwhile, another story is playing out in the background.
I’ve been in touch with Leica in Wetzlar, because I’ve got a fault that really bugs me.
My Leica M11-P Safari — daily use, latest firmware — wakes up on the wrong profile after sleep mode and loses my settings.
On top of that, it’s frozen completely three times.
I suspect it’s at its worst in damp conditions, which would point towards a possible hardware fault.
To top it off, a setting I make via the top menu can’t be saved into a custom profile — something not even Leica’s Swedish ambassador managed.
Leica, for their part, think the SD card might be the culprit.
But that can’t explain the profile fault, since it sits internally.
That’s exactly why I’m now testing running on the internal memory only, and actually — it made the profile issue somewhat better.
Either way, I’ll give it another week of testing, all to keep Tim Ketzer happy.

Playful grown-ups in town
Once you’re down in the centre, you can’t help being a little surprised.
Because here it’s both children and playful grown-ups who get up to something fun every day.
One day it’s giant chess caught between light and shadow, another day the prize wheel is spinning with face painting and balloon figures — and down by the Svartån river whole groups stand paddling SUP while the crowd cheers from the bank.
Even the asphalt gets a round of flowers.
And sure, you can get a little tempted to join in, when it’s something you find exciting yourself.

And a bit of news: Lightroom
Finally, new versions of Lightroom arrived: Classic 15.4, Desktop 9.4 and Mobile 11.4.
This time there are actually a couple of things worth mentioning.
Keywords finally sync between Classic and the cloud, so the tags you set on your phone follow back.
Classic has also got a built-in duplicate detector — something you previously had to solve with plugins.
And for us on Mac, Denoise is now faster thanks to it using the Apple Neural Engine, even if the first comments in the thread are a bit mixed.
You can read it all in the Lightroom Queen’s rundown: What’s New in Lightroom Classic 15.4, Mobile & Desktop

And with that, the day’s round was done.
It was neither the longest nor the most dramatic walk, but I got my steps, a bit to look at, and a new parking spot to get used to.
Days like these are really the best — no must-dos, just the town, the camera and a café on the way.
See you on the next round.
