Monday at Sundbyholm Castle

Monday again, and time for a meetup at Sundbyholm Castle. The weather was just about perfect, and there was nothing to do but wander around and soak it all up.

Woman in the water

Along the way I also asked a friendly girl whether we could photograph her down in the water, with a bit of backlight.

I’m posting two pictures from this, so you can compare them — they’re almost identical.

An early walk

Since I was a little early today, I had plenty of time to just wander around and take pictures here and there around the grounds.

There were quite a few along the way — among them the statue of the painter prince Eugen at his easel, which of course suits an old painter like me.

And then I got caught up with a rough old chain where the greenery has slowly worked its way in between the links.

Regrouping over coffee

When I got back, Harry and Lars-Bruno were already sitting there at a table, waiting for their food.

After that came a slightly longer walk with Harry, with a mix of photography.

Mostly in black and white this time — some quiet moods down by the water.

Inside the castle

Inside the castle

There was also a visit inside the castle, first down in the cellar and then up in the great dining hall.

Down in the cellar you could have stayed a while… if you hadn’t driven there, that is.

Plenty of wine bottles down there.

And a billiard table that always gets me going — if I had a huge house with a spare room, there’d be a billiard table in it, no question.

And finally it became clear who had taken home Svenskt Grand National 2026.

The winner lifted the silver trophy high against the blue-and-yellow flag, surrounded by the whole team, and the mood at the prize table was at its peak.

It was a long, wet and absolutely wonderful day at Strömsholm.

Days like these are exactly why I love having the cameras with me – there’s always something to capture, whether it rains or shines.

Thanks for this time, Strömsholm!
