Tony Lif photographer
Tony Lif, photographer and retired hospital photographer, based in Västerås, Sweden. Behind me lies a long and varied life behind the camera — from professional work in healthcare to concerts, events and fine art. Ever since childhood, photography has been a natural part of everyday life.
These days I mostly point the lens at what surrounds me: street scenes, nature, birds and sports. I also follow VSK Bandy closely, both as a devoted supporter and as a photographer. The ice often delivers the most dynamic images.
Tony Lif — a photographer through life
My professional career began as a medical photographer at Akademiska University Hospital in Uppsala, where the image was a working tool with demands for precision and documentary value. Alongside healthcare, I have also photographed close to 180 concerts and events over the years — everything from blues nights to big stages. Painting is yet another path; some of my works can be seen here on the site. Different expressions, but the same eye.
Why Hubbo?
The name Hubbo is no coincidence. I live in Tillberga, which belongs to Hubbo parish just north of Västerås — a district with deep roots and a church dating back to the 14th century. When the blog needed a name, it felt natural to borrow it from my home district. So when you read hubbo.se, you are quite literally reading stories from Hubbo parish — through a camera lens instead of a parish chronicle.
Camera equipment
I work with two camera systems depending on the situation. With the Leica M11-P Safari I shoot street and nature. For moving subjects and events I use the Canon R6 with RF 24-70mm f/2.8 instead. Whatever the camera, the interest is always the same — light, timing and the genuine moment.
About the blog
Hubbo.se is my personal blog where I write about photography and everyday adventures. The blog is published in Swedish and English and is updated regularly. Feel free to explore Retirement Adventures, my bird photography or street photography.
I am also an active member of Bildgruppen Prisma in Västerås — a photography club focused on creative image analysis and competitions.
